Doing a factory restore on my Pocket PC, I re-loaded Google Navigator, but unlike the first time sucess that I described in my previous review, the program would not function properly. It would download satellite images from Google but not the maps. More importantly, although the GPS appeared to be working, it was not displaying my position and other data. Reluctantly, having wasted much time I decided to give up trying to use this program. Having seen on various forums, the other problems caused, allI can say is that there are many things that need sorting with this program, and I would advise anyone not to part with their cash. I can only give it one star at present for effort. It does have potential, but it seems that many serious bugs need fixing. |

I downloaded the freeware version and initially it worked brilliantly. The google maps downloaded automatically when I connected my PDA via active sync. The Sat Nav GPS function worked flawlessly too, my Fujitsu Siemens N560 picked up the GPS satellites very quickly inside my house and pinpointed my position very precisely. Unfortunately, I had some problems with the PDA not related to Google Navigator, and had to do a reset of my machine. Thereafter, the program refused to co-operate with the built-in GPS detector pf my FS N560. I contacted the guy at support and he replied promptly, stating that he was working on solutions to this type of problem. He even pointed me to a free GPS tester program. Again, unfortunately the program refused to co-operate. I liked the program so much though that today I did a factory reset of my PDA, installed the program to an SD card, and restored my PDA using Sprite backup restore function. I am about to try again. I'll write a follow-up review, as this great program does deserve a chance. I gather that the developer's first language is not English by the promotional blurbs I've seen, but nevertheless I wish him/her all the best, and can only suggest theat he/she gets an English copywriter!. |

I had version 2.8 working, and it was awesome, but once I cleared the maps and tried to start over, never got it to work right again. Went as far as a hard reboot to get it back and tried working up to version 3 without success. When it was working it was 4 star, so may be worth a look for you. There is definitely a lack of documentation, but it is pretty straight-forward. I sent a question to support 2 months ago and never got an answer. I sent a question 1 week ago and got an answer the next day. All in all, I think it's worth a try. Everything else is triple the price or you must have a costant wireless connection. With G.N., you can view the map you need-scroll around at different resolutions and then you have a good map to take with you and have gps with turn by turn. |

By all accounts, it appears that Google Navigator is a FRAUD!! I am not sure how you even know that you have to download maps somehow - I got no documenation with this and can find no information on-line indicating how to download the maps. Satellite view appears to work, but maps functionality only shows white outlines of the continents - nothing else. I cannot get a response from technical support either... Guess I should have known that $60 was too good to be true given the costs associated with other navigation related GPS tools?!?!?! I also have to join the list of p--ssed off people on this one. I've been scammed!! Don't buy this product!! |

I get it to work fine on my HTC/Kaiser Tilt (8925). Problem with me is that I need a standalone product with maps available on the phone so I can use it especially where there is no internet reception available. Can't beat Google's satellite/aerial mapping which I prefer to use when outside metro areas but I have not been able to master the Google map file downloading necessary to use it as a standalone. |
