About Inkscape

Inkscape is a fully-featured vector graphics editor that comes as an alternative to popular applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Xara Xtreme and other similar apps. Inkscape helps you move, scale, rotate and skew your objects both interactively and based on exact numeric values. In addition, you can group objects and lock, hide and rearrange layers with just a couple of mouse clicks.

Drawing various shapes like rectangles with or without rounded corners, ellipses, starts, polygons and spirals could never be easier thanks to featured shape tools. You also have the option to create and embed bitmaps of selected objects and insert multi-line text.

Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. Supported SVG features include shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, patterns, and grouping. Inkscape also supports Creative Commons meta-data, node editing, layers, complex path operations, bitmap tracing, text-on-path, flowed text, direct XML editing, and more. It imports formats such as Postscript, EPS, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats.
