Faster Searches with Copernic Desktop Search
Making a file system composed of folders containing other folders that contain your files requires a lot of planning and discipline to maintain. The problem with this approach is that a lot of user input is required to maintain the self documenting nature of this type of file organization. By limiting the number of file types to be indexed, you make your index smaller thus leading to faster searches. Copernic Desktop Search comes in three version. The home version is free and allows the most helpful searching/organizing options for a home computer. The home version allows searching of email stored in email folders. If you have a networked home, network shares can be searched by CDS by mapping the share as a network drive. The professional edition of CDS allows indexing of networked drives while the corporate edition allows searching of files in Lotus Notes.
